In the Right Key; Guidelines for Music Teaching at Key Stage 3

With a focus on years 7 to 9, the 46 pages of this handbook contain structured and attractively set out exposition in
1. Planning.
2. Teaching and Learning, and
3. Managing Effectively.

Although written primarily for teachers, it should be read by all who have influence on the secondary music curriculum. There is much good advice about Assessment and Recording in section 2, and the effective management pages take in Access and Entitlement, SEN issues and ICT. Links are described with community involvement, instrumental teaching, and between KS2 and 3. There is much of interest for those with responsibility for this stage of learning and participation.

This is currently out of print but copies are now available in the members section. (Non-members can join by returning an application form to the NAME Administrator)
