Musical Technologies

    It's tough making it in the music business today, particularly in the performance side. The opportunities to make a name for yourself are few and far between. Most of today's top bands and artists have had to do their time on pub tours, getting changed in some grotty toilets and driving around in hazardous minibuses before they eventually got into the lime light.

    Music technology has developed at an alarming rate over the last 20 years. Charlie Watkins amplifiers, used at the 1970 Isle of White Festival, were state of the art, but now look as old as dinosaurs. This website is about understanding how music is recorded and mixed and how the profession operates.
